Abstract

Cayenne pepper is a plant that is loved by many people. This research aims to determine the effect of coconut fiber on the growth and productivity of cayenne pepper. The approach used a quantitative approach with experimental research methods. The research design used a completely randomized design, each treatment consisting of 5 replications. Data includes plant height and fruits total. The data were analyzed by using descriptive and inferential analysis. The inferential analysis using ANOVA test and followed by Least Significance Different (LSD) at the 0.05 significance level. The results showed that the giving of coconut fiber dense organic fertilizer has a significant influence on the growth and productivity of cayenne pepper plants. The growth of cayenne pepper by giving coconut fiber produces an average stem height was 16.02 cm and the fruits total was 14.42 cm. The results of ANOVA showed that the probability value is smaller than the alpha value where plant height (0.001˂0.005) and fruit total (0.000˂0.005). Furthermore, the LSD test showed that coconut fiber in the sixth treatment (15-ounces) significantly affect the growth and productivity of cayenne pepper plants.
