Abstract

The experiment was conducted in the vegetable field of the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Gardening / College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences / University of Baghdad - Jadriya for the autumn season 2017 to study the effect of different mineral fertilizer treatments and root enhancers on the growth and yield of the Kholarbi plant (Brassica caulorpa L.), the Kholarbi seeds were cultivated in the nursery on the date of 10/8/2017, and after the seedlings reached the appropriate size, they were cultivated in the field on the date of 9/29/2017. The research included two factors, the first of which is mineral fertilizers and included five treatments: the control treatment by adding 25% of the chemical fertilizer recommendation and Which symbolized by T1, and the recommended fertilizer recommendation treatment which is 100 kg N, 120 kg P2O5, and 120 kg K2O per hectare and Which symbolized by T2, The remaining treatments were by adding 25% of the fertilizer recommendation with different types of fertilizers in quantities 4 g.plant-1 after two weeks of seedlings, then adding 6 g .plant-1after two weeks of the first addition and then 8 g.plant-1 after two weeks of the second addition using fertilizer High nitrogen (T3) or high phosphorous fertilizer (T4) or high potassium fertilizer (T5), As for the second factor, it is represented by adding root enhancers, and it includes three treatments: non-addition (RE0), the addition of Incium root enhancer at a concentration of 1 ml.L -1 (RE1), and addition of Disper root enhancer with a concentration of 1 g.L-1 (RE2). The experiment was conducted as a factorial experiment with two factors. (5 * 3) Within the design of R.C.B.D with three replicates. The results showed that T3 treatment excelled vegetative growth traits, while T5 treatment excelled yield traits and gave good results for vegetative growth. Where, the root enhancer Incium treatment showed the excelled of the vegetative growth traits and the yield, and the interaction treatments T5XRE1 showed a significantly excelled in all studied traits and gave the highest diameter and weight of the bulbous stem reached 10.21 cm. stem -1 and 465.70 g, respectively, and the largest total yield reached 27.32 tons.ha -1. Therefore, we suggest adding 25% of the fertilizer recommendation with high potassium fertilizer in the quantities shown above, with the addition of Incium Root enhancer at a concentration of 1 ml.L -1 for the highest yield of Kholarbi plant.
