Abstract

Mung bean is one of the Leguminosae plant, and have high demand in Indonesia, but the productivity is relative low because of less technological application. The objective of the research was to study the effect of mycorrhizal inoculation and soaking duration in PGPR on the increase in growth and yield of Mung bean. The factorial research used a Randomized Block Design with 8 treatments and 1 control. The treatments consist of 2 factors. The first factor is mycorrhiza with 2 levels of mycorrhizal inoculation (M1), and without mycorrhizal inoculation (M2), while the second factor is PGPR soaking with a standard soak of 5 minutes (P1), 10 minutes (P2), 15 minutes (P3), and 20 minutes (P4). The research was conducted at Dadaprejo Village, Junrejo Subdistrict, Batu, from June to August 2016. The results showed that mycorrhizal inoculation and soaking duration of PGPR may increase the growth and yield of Mung bean. Mycorrhizal inoculation and 10 minute PGPR soaking produced more leaves at 34 and 44 dap, while the 15 minute PGPR soak significantly increased the yield of Mung bean. Variables that contribute to the increased weight of grains per hectare are plant height, leaf area, the number of pods, pod length, the weight of 100 seeds, and seed weight per plot of harvest.
