Abstract

Glutathione is one of the most important antioxidants for eliminating oxidative stress on the cells of the body. The research was conducted with the aim of determine the effect of oral dosage of 1mg/ml of glutathione alone or with either vitamin C, Zinc or a cell concentration of Lactobacillus plantarum (CCLP) on the growth rate parameters and blood profile in male laboratory rats that induced with immunosuppression by Sandimmun after breading for 28 days.
The results indicated that orally dosage from glutathione alone or with either vitamin C or a CCLP causing a significant increased (p<0.05) of male rats body weight gain which became between 80 to 89 g compared with the group of rats induced of immunosuppression which was at 12 g. also were caused to improved significantly the Hb, RBCs WBCs and the protein parameters which became similar of the same value in rats of control group. It was concluded that oral dosage of glutathione alone or with each biological agents were improved growth rates and blood profile parameters in the male rats which induced immunosuppression.
