Association study between MTHFR and MTRR genes mutation in women with missed abortion in Mosul city


The Recurrent Spontaneous Abortion (RSA) respect of clinical problem related to of pregnancy, and its reoccur imputation 1-5% in women’s, however RSA is very complicate, and the causes about 40-50% un clear also many factors such as genetic, anatomy, endocrine, immunology and environment all of them increase abortion in women. The study includes 45 women with RSA and 20 healthy pregnant women have same age group (25-35) yeas. DNA extraction from blood and used biodrop for determination concentration and purity of DNA, also used ARMS-PCR technique was used for detection of polymorphism in MTHFR and MTRR genes. For the genotyping MTHFR C677T and MTRR A66G polymorphisms and the risk factor of abortion showed. For MTHFR gene. The 677TT genotype was associated with increased risk for abortion in women (32.3 %) but in control group is (10 %). The 677TC genotype be found in this study showed different influences in abortion (26.6 %) and (10 %) in control group. The 677CC genotype present in the result but have different effect on study groups in control (10 %) and (30 %) in abortion women. The result for MTRR gene, G allele was associated with increased risk for abortion in women (41.7 %) and A allele is (5%). And in the healthy women A allele have influence (90.0 %) and G allele (10 %). This study has investigated the relationship and correlation between gene polymorphism of MTHFR (C677T) and MTRR (A66G) with risk factor of abortion.
